The Green Party of Georgia, founded in 1991, is member of the European
Green Party. The party had three repesentatives in the Parliament in
1995-1999.
In 2008, the party was not allowed by the Central Electoral Commission
to compete in the legislative election; accordingly, its candidates
ran as individuals through the list of the Christian-Democrat Alliance
Coalition.

The flag of the party, as used during street demonstrations, is yellow with the emblem of the party surrounded by the name of the party in Georgian script (top) and English (bottom, as "Greens Party of Georgia").
The emblem of the party shows the seven-ray sun used on the former Georgian naval flags (1997-2004) inscribed in a ring, all green.
